Performance Investigation of Digital Lowpass IIR Filter Based on Different Platforms

The work presented in this paper illuminates the design and simulation of a recursive or Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filter. proposed algorithm employs Genetic Algorithm to determine filter coefficients satisfy required performance. effectiveness different platforms on performance has been studied paper. Three are considered implement verify designed filter’s through simulation. first platform is MATLAB/SIMULINK software package used Biquad form This technique basis for implementation IIR HDL – Cosimulation second one; it inspired take advantage existing tools SIMULINK convert Very high-speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL) format. System Generator employed as third technique, which implemented hardware structure based basic unit blocks provided by Xilinx Generator. facilitates FPGA target device. Simulation results show that remarkably reliable even with severe noise levels.
